FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

 

Are there any discounts offered?

We give a team discount for the Seminole Overnight Camp for 5 or more golfers from the same high school team. We also give a discount to campers who participate in both the Day Camp and the Overnight Camp. Returning campers who are residents of the Southwood Community are eligible for a returning camper discount for the Advanced Camp. Please contact Cathy Jones for specific amounts.

Can Teams attend?

Absolutely – we would be happy to have your team participate and can provide coaches with additional documentation that will assist in continuing your improvement once you return home.

What is the camp refund policy?

Only medically documented illness or injuries will be given a refund, less a $250 application fee.

What forms are required in order for my child to participate?

Registration form and liability waiver are due by June 1, however, spaces are limited and the sessions will close if they are filled. Campers registering online do not need to fill out additional forms, other than those included in the online registration process.

What meals are provided?

Seminole Advanced Camp – all meals are provided for resident campers beginning with Saturday dinner and ending with lunch after the camp tournament on Wednesday. Commuter students will be provided with the lunch and dinner each day starting with dinner on Saturday and ending with lunch after the camp tournament.

Is there a medical staff at camp?

We do not provide on-site medical staff, however, all instructors are American Red Cross First Aid and CPR certified.

What skill level is the Overnight Camp designed for?

Participants in the Seminole Overnight Camp should have golf experience and be able to play 18 holes of golf while walking. Experience in junior golf tournaments is helpful but not necessary. Participants will be grouped according to skill level and age in order to ensure a pleasurable experience for all.

Will there be supervision in the residence hall?

Campers will have an instructor or counselor with them at all times during the Seminole Golf Camp. Instructors as well as counselors will stay with the campers each night in the residence hall. PLEASE do NOT arrive prior to the designated check-in time as campers will not be supervised.

Will there be a camp tournament?

Each camp will conclude with the camp tournament on the last day. The Seminole Day Camp tournament will be a 9 hole tournament with the number of holes dependent on the camper’s age and ability level. The Seminole Overnight Camp tournament will be a 18 hole tournament (weather permitting) beginning on Tuesday with the final round on Wednesday morning.

Parents are invited and encouraged to come out and watch the camp tournament. The awards ceremony will be held immediately following the camp tournament.

Where and when will check in take place?

Check-in for Seminole Day Camp will take place at the Don Veller Seminole Golf Course - specific details will be emailed two weeks prior to the start of camp.

Check-in for Seminole Overnight Camp will take place at the assigned FSU residence hall on Saturday at approximately Noon-1:00 pm. Specific details will be emailed two weeks prior to the start of camp.

Where and when will pick up take place on the last day of Overnight camp?

Seminole Overnight Camp will finish with an awards ceremony at Don Veller Seminole Golf Course at approximately Noon. Parents will then need to check campers out of their residence hall immediately following the awards ceremony. More specific details will be emailed during camp week.

What times should I book flights for if I’m flying my child up for camp?

Please books flights to arrive around noon on Saturday and no later than 5:00 pm on Wednesday.
